MSP recognized for its accessibility efforts

The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) was recognized Tuesday by the Commission of Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing Minnesotans (MCDHH) as a leader in providing exemplary service to travelers in need. The MAC has kept accessibility concerns - including the needs of those who are deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing- a priority, providing the necessary tools and amenities for those traveling through Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport.

The MAC was recognized for its many accessibility aids including: visual paging, video remote interpreting (VRI), teletypewriter (TTY) and video relay service (VRS) phones, and service animal/pet relief areas.

Lobby day serves as an opportunity for MCDHH supporters and ordinary Minnesotans to advocate for the concerns of the deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing. It also serves as a chance for citizen activists to meet and learn about legislative issues that affect their community. Significant changes to budgets and program priorities affecting the MCDHH are being proposed in the Minnesota Legislature this year.
